Despite the incredible collection, the most photographed works are outside the buildings. Among the innumerable light poles, tourists circulate in search of the best angle. It is the work Urban Light, by Cris Burden, that gives lacma lights its identity. Another external show is Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass. The 340-ton stone, placed on a catwalk, causes a mixture of curiosity and fear in the pedestrians who risk their way.
